CITATIONS ($4-5 EACH)
Citations are directories like Bing Places, YellowPages, Kudzu and Manta. These are 30% of your Google Map and local rankings (see Google’s local search ranking factors). They’e actually the #2 and #5 ranking factor. Few things in SEO you can effectively outsource, citation building is one of them.
GEOTARGETED LANDING PAGES
Optimizing content around your keywords, services, and locations (cities) is the largest part of website optimization in local SEO. This is usually a combination of tweaking existing pages, then adding new ones. I can help with content design and SEO, but you should probably write the actual content.
- Location-specific keyword list
- Optimization of existing pages
- Creation of new, optimized pages
- You write the content, I do the SEO
- Used to target specific cities/services
These are things that effect the SEO of your entire website. Setting up Webmaster Tools, fixing technical errors, and making your site load faster can improve rankings for every single page/post on your website. A simple analysis can tell us which items need to be fixed so your site can be fully optimized.
- Speed optimization
- Yoast settings configuration
- Webmaster Tools configuration
- Fixing errors in Webmaster Tools
- Mobile errors, broken pages, redirects

Google’s Local Search Ranking Factors – Moz
Google My Business is 14.7% of local SEO in itself. Creating a 100% complete profile, deleting duplicates, and posting updates on G+ is what you want to do.
Unless you’re a lawyer and it’s against your policies, please make this a priority. Reviews are not only a ranking factor but are important for obvious reasons.
Yelp, Superpages, Manta, and other citations are 30% when you combine this with Google My Business (your main citation). You want quantity AND quality.
Posting updates and “building a following” on the main social networks should also be on your priority list during the the local SEO campaign. Once a day!
On-page SEO means adding geographic-targeted landing pages (optimized with Yoast) plus other factors like site speed and Yoast’s Local SEO Plugin.
Making your site mobile-friendly, writing SEO titles/meta descriptions to increase clickthrough, and getting more check-ins/offers will help SEO.
Adding videos, making sure redirects are in place, blogging about useful content, and promoting it through social media + email is the way to go.
Personalization is more about the visitor than it is you (eg. their online search history). The only way to control this is to focus on the other factors.
The citations + geotargeted landing pages is a powerful combination I have already used to improve rankings for many localized (and competitive) keywords. Citations barely take any time on your end other than filling out the intake, geotargeted landing pages may require you to invest time in creating content. It’s up to you where you want to start, I can also do an SEO Audit if you need a full analysis on your website / rankings.
